Elder Scrolls Online Free to Play this Week

Bethesda Softworks is letting gamers play The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited (TESO) for free this week. Officially, the game is free to play from April 11th – 18th at 10 am EDT. Anyone can try out the latest Elder Scrolls game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC.

TESO is a free-to-play massively multiplayer roleplaying game (MMORPG) in a similar vein to Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. As is the norm, TESO has multiple quest lines with random events and free-roaming exploration of the open-game world.

Adding to the replayability, there are four classes and ten playable races from the Elder Scrolls repertoire – including four races of humans, three kinds of elves, orcs, Argonians (humanoid lizards), and Khajiiti (humanoid felines).

Embodying the Elder Scrolls atmosphere and content, TESO has a lot to build off – even letting players turn into vampires and werewolves like in the original Elder Scrolls: Morrowind for the first Xbox.

Less than two months before the release of the new Morrowind expansion, Bethesda is looking to boost their player base by incentivizing players. Newcomers are given access to the base game this week, TESO: Tamriel Unlimited, and 500 crowns of in-game credit. With this credit, players can buy in-game items and even to help pay towards future DLC.

Even better, anything bought or earned during this trial week carries over to the main game afterwards. If players enjoy the game, and have a current Xbox Live Gold membership, they can buy the base game at a discounted rate of $13.20 CAD or the base game with all currently released DLC, including the Dark Brotherhood questline, for $40.00 CAD.

On June 6th 2017, TESO: Morrowind expansion releases for $39.99 USD. Bethesda announced that the new expansion will bring over 30 hours of new content including exotic landscapes, an all-new Warden class, and a new, hectic player-versus-player mode including 4v4v4 arenas.

Are you going to jump into the world of Elder Scrolls Online, or is this not a big enough incentive for you? Feel free to leave your thoughts below.
