Asobo Studio released a trailer for their upcoming title A Plague Tale: Innocence at E3 2017. The game combines action, adventure, and stealth with an original story set in France in the year 1349. You’re put in control of two orphans, Amicia and her younger brother Hugo, as they are pursued by the Inquisition though villages across France that have been ravaged by the great plague. During their journey, the two siblings will have to join forces with other orphans and use both light and fire to avoid supernatural swarms of rats.
The game is being developed by Asobo Studio who previously have worked Pixar movie game adaptations, including Ratatouille, Toy Story 3, WALL-E, and Up. The French-based developer also worked on several large PC ports of games including Ubisoft’s The Crew and Microsoft Studio’s ReCore. They also hold the Guinness World Record for the largest playable area in a console game, awarded to their 2009 open-world racing game, Fuel.
Focus Home Interactive, the French-based publisher of games like Vampyr, Space Hulk: Deathwing, and Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game will be distributing this adventure when it releases.
No release date has been announced yet but the game is scheduled to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
